Fresh figures from the Department of Lands and Surveys (DLS) — the number of registered sale contracts on the new-build market.
Cyprus overall: 1,241 contracts in August, +10% year on year. August is traditionally the quietest month — holidays and heat — and 2026 was no exception 🙂
Year to date, eight months bring 13,288 contracts, +13.7% against January–August 2025.

What we see
Limassol slipped into negative territory for the first time in 2026 — a pullback after June's +64% sprint, when deals were being pushed through ahead of the reduced 5% VAT deadline.
Larnaca posted the strongest monthly move of any district at +35%.
Paphos added 20% in August and now leads every district on cumulative growth: +19.7% against Limassol's +17.0% — a month ago the two were neck and neck.
In eight months Paphos has already reached 74% of the whole record year 2025 (3,567 contracts). If September–December repeat last year's season at the same pace, the district will close above 4,000 contracts for the first time, and Cyprus above 20,000 versus 18,114 in 2025.
